in Philly to eat some ribs (and delicious cornbread with honey [or syrup? {or molasses}]) and see Magic Slim & The Teardrops.

Dawkins signs with the Broncos
Even though I kinda knew this was coming (if the Eagles wanted him, they would have never let him reach free agency), and even though I know it makes sense to get younger at the position, this kinda sucks.
Maybe Dawk just wanted to stay with Correll Buckhalter.

The Stacy Andrews thing seems like a good (probable) signing, but I guess I don’t understand the theory that somehow this will fix Shawn’s depression. First of all, it’s not like he’s been unable to speak to Stacy, or that he’s been so distant from his family that he can’t contact them. Second, what if they don’t really get along, or if Stacy gets on his nerves, or his family is the cause of the depression? Third, how is his brother being near him supposed to cure him of clinical depression? None of it makes any sense at all, really, and I’m assuming the Eagles are only focused on one thing: can this guy block? Let’s hope so.

okay- so here’s another problem with free agency: as the economy crumbles around us and everyone’s losing all their money, I feel kind of like an idiot celebrating the thought of the Eagles paying many millions of dollars to a football player. I mean– everyone’s salaries are going down, and yet I’m supposed to be thrilled that NFL players’ salaries are going up?

last night was probably the first free agency night in a while when I didn’t stay up waiting for news.
Just not so excited about free agency this year. Who is there to get excited about, really? Derrick Ward?

At Temple for the Temple-La Salle basketball game. Wearing Temple gear because I can’t find the only La Salle shirt I own (and even that is from La Salle high)

There is a remarkable amount of Beatles songs that are appropriate for use with an iPod alarm clock (Good Day Sunshine; Good Morning, Good Morning; Here Comes the Sun; etc.)

wasting whole days of your life grading papers really makes you appreciate good books when you have the chance to read them.
