i should have no comment on the drafts because I really don’t know anything about college football, but here are my two comments:

1. I’m conflicted about the Eagles drafting a guy nicknamed “Shady” in the second round
2. I would probably prefer a new WR who has a different skillset from the top two WRs on the team.

first official bbbq of the summer begins in about 3 hours.

tonight: honey-citrus chicken with rice and some kind of salad. And probably a couple bottles of Arrogant Bastard Ale

bbq preparation. cleaning. marinating.

kinda wishing I’d actually gone to the sixers game last night.

actively avoiding all crazy draft-related rumors, 90% of which are clearly just made up.

there ought to be some kind of law against using a jackhammer before 7 AM.

too much work outside this weekend. Still, suprisingly, un-sunburned.

lookin’ out my back door.

going to work on a friday then coming home and performing annual maintenance on the grill (for the first time in 3 years).

very long day.

trying to figure out how to dispose of old gasoline.

waiting for the deck to dry. doing nothing.

cleaning the deck.
then staining/sealing the deck.
then watching the deck dry.

a full day, really.

home late after meeting someone for post-work drinks. watching the end of the sixers game.

spending too much time looking for Sheldon Brown news, not enough time working.

Spring fling on campus today. Two years ago, this meant my evening students arrived to class drunk.

Sheldon Brown’s agent in 2004, after Sheldon signed his contract extension (the one with which he’s currently unhappy):

“We didn’t need to do this now, but this deal was too attractive and too important not to get it done… they made him a multimillionaire, taking all the risk out of injury. He’s set for life.”

when my book finally does get published, i don’t advise reading it 12 times. After the 11th read, it really loses some of its flair.
